Abstract
"métodos para aumentar o conteúdo de amido em espigas de planta". são fornecidos métodos e composições para aumentar o conteúdo de amido em tecidos verdes de uma planta. o método compreende regular negativamente a atividade de enzimas de degradação do amido em uma planta. as plantas transgênicas resultantes da invenção possuem conteúdo de amido aumentado em tecidos verdes e exibem um fenótipo de excesso de amido. em uma modalidade, o método envolve a manipulação de uma planta monocotiledônea para regular negativamente a atividade da enzima de degradação do amido. as plantas são úteis para o aperfeiçoamento do rendimento de açúcares livres a partir de biomassa de planta e para aumentar a estabilidade de armazenamento de tecido verde desidratado.
