Abstract
Processos de Purificação de Ácido Carboxílico Aromático Impuro, de Fabrico de Produto de Ácido Carboxílico Aromático Purificado e de Ácido Tereftálico na Forma Purificada e de Estabilização de Carboneto de Sílicio de Elevada Área de Superficie. Os ácidos carboxílicos aromáticos impuros tais como são obtidos por oxidação em fase líquida de materiais de carga que compreendem compostos aromáticos com grupos substituintes oxidáveis a grupos de ácido carboxílico ou que compreendem ácido carboxílico aromático e uma ou mais impurezas de carbonil aromático que formam espécies hidrogenadas mais solúveis em solventes aquosos ou com menos cor ou tendências de formação de cor do que a impureza de carbonil aromático são purificados a um produto de ácido carboxílico aromático com menores níveis de impurezas por um processo que compreende contatar uma solução aquosa compreendendo o ácido carboxílico aromático impuro com hidrogênio a elevada temperatura e pressão com uma composição de catalisador estável em ácido resistente ao atrito, que compreende pelo menos um metal de catalisador de hidrogenação e um suporte que compreende carboneto de silicio de área de superficie relativamente alta.
