Abstract

VARIADOR Um dispositivo de razão variável continuamente ("variador") é revelado no qual um par de pistas rotativas (252, 254) é montado para rotação em torno de um eixo geométrico de variador comum (218). O acionamento é transferido de uma pista para a outra por meio de pelo menos um rolete (200) funcionando sobre elas. A razão de acionamento é variável por causa da precessão do rolete em torno de um eixo geométrico de precessão (228). A precessão resulta em uma mudança no ângulo entre o eixo geométrico do rolete e o eixo geométrico do variador e em uma correspondente mudança na razão de acionamento. De acordo com a invenção, o rolete (200) é acoplado a um suporte (214) de ma maneira que permite a ele reagir a forças externas girando em relação ao suporte (214) O suporte propriamente dito é rotativo em torno de um eixo geométrico de suporte (226) que não é paralelo ao eixo geométrico de precessão. A rotação do suporte (214) em torno do eixo geométrico do suporte serve para mudar a orientação do eixo geométrico de precessão (228) e é acompanhada por uma mudança na razão de acionamento do variador.
