A invenção refere-se a um processo para a separação de substâncias na preparação de produtos químicos como, por exemplo, produtos farmacêuticos quirais, isómeros ou biomoleculares em pequena ou em grande escala, com base na tecnologia "Simulated Moving Bed" (SMB = cromatografia de contracorrente).
