Abstract

"ATUADOR DE VáLVULA PROGRAMáVEL DE ALTA VELOCIDADE". A presente invenção refere-se a um atuador eletromagnético no qual um rotor é girável em um estator que é magnetizável fazendo com que uma corrente elétrica flua através de pelo menos um enrolamento associado com o estator. O rotor apresenta pelo menos duas posições de descanso estáveis, cada qual definida por uma combinação de forças de mola e magnéticas que atuam no rotor. Um meio de mola armazena energia durante parte do movimento do rotor e confere energia cinética para acelerar o rotor durante o subseqüente movimento do mesmo. Um torque magnético será exercido sobre o rotor, quando uma corrente fluir em pelo menos um enrolamento que é suficiente para superar a força magnética que detém o rotor em uma posição de descanso, para fazer com que o rotor gire pelo menos sob a influência da força de mola armazenada em uma direção a partir dessa posição de descanso na direção da outra posição de descanso. O rotor é conectado a um membro de empuxo por uma articulação mecanica através da qual o movimento rotacional do rotor é convertido em movimento substancialmente linear. A articulação apresenta uma vantagem mecânica que varia em uma maneira predeterminada durante a rotação do rotor. Em uma concretização, o rotor pode girar através de 360<198> e girar continuamente. Em outra concretização, o rotor apresenta apenas duas posições de descanso estáveis e uma primeira mola armazena energia durante o movimento do rotor na direção de uma posição de descanso, e uma segunda mola armazena energia, à medida que o rotor gira na direção de sua outra posição de descanso. A primeira mola supre energia cinética para acelerar o rotor longe dessa posição de descanso na direção da outra posição de descanso. A segunda mola supre energia cinética para prover uma força de aceleração, à medida que ela se move longe de outra dita posição de descanso de volta para sua primeira posição de descanso. O perfil de vantagem mecânica é tal que, perto de uma posição de descanso, o movimento angular do rotor não resulte em substancialmente nenhum movimento linear do membro de empuxo. Isto é alcançado por uma conexão de movimento perdido entre o rotor e o membro de empuxo no qual o movimento perdido é assumido durante parte da rotação do rotor. O atuador poderá ser usado para abrir e fechar uma válvula de um motor de combustão interna, quando suprido com correntes de um sistema central que opera em conjunção com parte ou que faz parte de um sistema de controle do motor.
