Abstract

"PROCESSO DE FUSãO PARA A PRODUçãO DE FERRO". Um processo para produzir metal de ferro e escória pela fusão de material de fonte contendo ferro, tendo ferro presente como óxido e/ou em um estado parcialmente metalizado, em um reator contendo um banho fundido compreendendo ou tendo uma fase de escória, utiliza injeção de combustível/redutor e gás contendo oxigênio na escória, por pelo menos uma lança com topo submerso, para gerar condições de aquecimento e redução pelo menos em uma região de redução no banho. O material de fonte é alimentado ao reator, juntamente com redutor adicional e com fundente, em ou adjacente à pelo menos uma região de redução, a fim de submeter o material de fonte à redução de fusão que gera gases de combustão compreendendo CO e H~ 2~. As taxas de injeção do gás contendo oxigênio e combustível/redutor por pelo menos uma lança são controladas para se obter condições de redução suficiente, necessárias; e no reator acima do banho, os gases de combustão gerados pela fusão são pós-inflamados. O controle da etapa (c) é conduzido para resultar no gás contendo oxigênio injetado tendo um teor de oxigênio de aproximadamente 40% em volume a aproximadamente 100% em volume e suficiente para um grau de combustão que excede 60% em peso do combustível/redutor injetado por pelo menos uma lança.
