Um método para melhorar operações reprográficas e de conversão de papel de precisão de alta velocidade por engomação da superfície do papel de usado em operações reprográficas ou de conversão de precisão de alta velocidade com um agente de engomação reativo e um enchimento inorgânico, o enchimento sendo aplicado em uma quantidade eficaz para melhorar a escoabilidade do papel. Uma composição de engomação útil como uma goma da superfície nesta invenção é um agente de engomação reativo de 2-oxetanona e um enchimento inorgânico, em uma proporção em peso de enchimento inorgânico para goma da superfície reativa de cerca de 0,1 : 1 a cerca de 10 : 1. O papel feito deste modo também está dentro do âmbito desta invenção.
