Abstract

"SENSOR DE POSIçãO ROTATIVA E MéTODO DE DETECçãO DE POSIçãO ROTATIVA", sendo que um disco de rotor ou roda de cor recebida em um eixo a ser detectado tem uma faixa anelar de um material de filtro de duas cores (vermelho/verde) tendo um gradiente circunferencial oposto. Um placa de circuitos impressos em um lado axial do disco do rotor possui o LED de duas cores, emitindo luz para um refletor no lado axial oposto do disco do rotor. Alguma luz refletida do LED passa através do filtro que a transmite, de acordo com a quantidade de material de filtragem de cor única presente na estação de rotor particular, para um fotodetector na placa de circuitos. Outros raios da luz emitida são refletidos diretamente para um segundo detector para compensação ambiente. A quantidade de luz transmitida pelo filtro faz com que a corrente do detector varie a taxa de carga de um capacitor carregado em um nível de referência, e quando alcançado, o LED é mudado à outra das duas emissões de duas cores. O tempo necessário para carregar o capacitor no nível de referência determina a fração do ciclo de funcionamento do sinal de saída que pode ser correlacionado com os dados conhecidos no gradiente de cor para determinar a posição angular do rotor. Uma segunda roda de cor é indexada, ou engrenada para cima ou para baixo, como um integrador para contar o número de revoluções completas da roda de cor do eixo.
