Abstract

PURPOSE: To realize the simplification of structure as well as a low cost, by putting the emitted luminous flux into the prism via the part to be detected after distributing both the light emitting element and the photodetector at the same side and then leading the emitted light into the photodetector.
CONSTITUTION: The detection part is formed by the wiring substrate 5 provided with the light emitting element 1, photodetector 2 and element cover 4 respectively. The luminous flux emitted from the element 1 goes toward the arrow marking through the luminous flux inlet/outlet 4A. In this case, the luminous flux enters the prism 10 from the light inlet/outlet surface 10C to be reflected on the reflective surface 10A when the prism 10 sealed to the rotor 9 reaches the inlet/outlet 4A. Then the reflected luminous flux is bent toward the arrow marking to go toward the arrow mark through the surface 10C after reflected on the reflective surface 10B, and then enters the element 2 through the luminous flux inlet 4B of the element 2. The time during which the emitted luminous flux reaches the element 2 is equal to the velocity of light and so short that can be neglected. At the same time, the detection part can be packaged compactly onto the substrate 5 along with a reduction of the number of component parts. As a result, the structure can be simplified to realize a cost reduction.
