A invenção se refere a um processo para fabricação de um material de fricção, mais especialmente de uma coroa de fricção para disco de fricção de embreagem que trabalha a seco, que compreende uma operação de impregnação de um fio à base notadamente de fibras minerais tais como fibras de vidro, por meio de um cimento de impregnação aquoso que contém látex assim como uma resina fenólica pelo menos em parte sob a forma de fenolato.
