Abstract

"DISPOSITIVO ATENUADOR DE RUìDO PARA ATENUARNìVEIS SONOROS". Um dispositivo atenuador de som (10) éprovido para uso na redução de níveis sonoros associados a umafonte sonora, como um motor de combustão interna. O dispositivoatenuador de ruido, por exemplo, é conectado ao cano dedescarga (14) do motor e recebe ondas sonoras e um fluxo defluido de gás de exaustão dele. O dispositivo atenuador de sominclui um alojamento (12) que define uma câmara interna (16), umamontagem defletora interna (18) estendendo-se centralmenteatravés da câmara, e um arranjo defletor (19) próximo a umaentrada (14) do alojamento. A montagem do defletor interno éformada de uma pilha longitudinal de defletores afuniladosespaçados um do outro (38), como cones internos que seestendem centralmente através da câmara e definem umapassagem anular disposta radialmente entre os cones internos e aparede do alojamento. O arranjo defletor desvia o fluxo de fluidopara a passagem anular. Como resultado, um fluxo relativamentelivre de fluido é permitido através da passagem, enquanto as ondassonoras são desviadas entre o alojamento e as superficies doscones internos por meio do que os níveis sonoros são atenuados.
