Abstract

Patente de Invenção para <B>"MéTODOS DE PRODUçãO DE FIBRA DE VIDRO DE ALTA TEMPERATURA E ESTRUTURAS PROTETORAS TéRMICAS"<D>. Um fibra de vidro capaz de suportar temperaturas em excesso de 1900°F (1038°C) é produzida pelo tratamento de um vidro, preferivelmente fibra de vidro E. A fibra de vidro é lixiviada com ácidos selecionados, e, em seguida, a fibra lixiviada é tratada com materiais organo-metálicos de baixa viscosidade, tais como uma dispersão de emulsão de água em óleo de baixo peso molecular de dimetil polisiloxano. A fibra é usada em tais aplicações como embutimento em um material de revestimento ativo resistente ao fogo, ou embutimento em uma superfície de uma poliolefina ou plástico composto, tal como uma chapa de poliproprileno. A fibra de vidro tratada pode ser usada como um componente sozinho, ou em um concerto com um material retardante de fogo ou resistente à fogo, para aumentar adicionalmente suas propiedades de resistência ao fogo. Outros materiais compostos resistente ao fogo são formados por pré-revestimento de um tecido (1) com um material ativo (intumescente ou de sublimação (3), em seguida embutindo o tecido pré-revestido (5) em uma superfície de uma substrato de chapa preferivelmente termoplástico (11). O tecido pré-revestido é preferivelmente aderido a ou embutido na superfície do substrato simultaneamente com um processo de moldagem, que forma o composto em uma forma tal como um recipiente automotivo similar à um tanque de combustível ou base de porta-mala.
