No caso de um perfil, em particular de um perfil de vedação, de preferência para o emprego na área de aberturas, como por exemplo portas e janelas, de preferência, em veículos automotores, com um corpo de base do perfil (1), e com um elemento de cobertura 2 fixado no corpo de base do perfil, está previsto que o elemento de cobertura (2) é fabricado de TPE (elastómero termoplástico). A fabricação desse perfil é economicamente vantajosa. Além disso, o perfil apresenta características apropriadas, em particular para o emprego em veículos automotores, em virtude do elemento de cobertura de TPE.
