Abstract
Patente de Invenção para "DISPOSITIVOS DE MULTIPLEXAçãO óPTICA EM CASCATA". Um dispositivo de multiplexação óptica é provido compreendendo múltiplos multiplexadores de divisão de comprimento de onda juntos em cascata. Um primeiro um dos multiplexadores de divisão de comprimento de onda apresenta um orifício comum e múltiplos orifícios ópticos que são opticamente acoplados ao orifício comum. O orifício comum pode ser opticamente acoplado a uma linha de tronco de um sistema empregando multiplexação de divisão de comprimento de onda, por exemplo, um sistema de telecomunicação de fibra óptica empregando 4, 8, 16 ou outros números de canais multiplexados. Os orifícios ópticos incluem múltiplos orifícios de canais, cada um dos quais sendo transparente a uma sub-faixa de comprimento de onda correspondente, e reflectivo de outros comprimentos de onda. O segundo multiplexador de divisão de comprimento de onda apresenta um orifício comum opticamente acoplado a um dos orifícios ópticos do primeiro multiplexador de divisão de comprimento de onda. O segundo multiplexador de divisão de comprimento de onda também apresenta múltiplos orifícios ópticos que são opticamente acoplados ao seu orifício comum, e incluem múltiplos orifícios de canal de comprimento de onda seletivo. Uma guia de onda, tal como uma linha de fibra óptica, pode opticamente ligar o orifício comum do segundo multiplexador de divisão de comprimento de onda a um orifício óptico do primeiro multiplexador de divisão de comprimento de onda. Os WDMs em cascata podem ser opticamente acoplados à saida de um acoplador passivo, e um alojamento pode ser provido definindo um espaço encerrado no qual o dispositivo de multiplexação óptica é montado. Opcionalmente, WDMs adicionais podem ser produzidos em cascata com os primeiros dois WDMs em formação paralela ou ramificada, uma formação em linha, ou alguma combinação. Preferivelmente, os canais são providos de intersaída, tal que eles são removidos a partir do sinal multiplexado em certa ordem não-sequencial.
