"CONEXãO CRUZADO óPTICA PARA COMUTAçãO DE SINAIS óPTICOS ENTRE FIBRAS óPTICAS DE ENTRADA E FIBRAS óPTICAS DE SAìDA, COMUTADOR DE MóDULO PRINCIPAL, REDE DE TELECOMUNICAçõES óPTICA E PROCESSO DE CONEXãO CRUZADA DE SINAIS óPTICOS DE MúLTIPLOS COMPRIMENTOS DE ONDA ENTRE FIBRAS óPTICAS DE ENTRADA E FIBRAS óPTICAS DE SAìDA". é apresentada uma estrutura para comutação de conexão cruzada óptica (OXC) que tem modularidade de fibra e comprimento de onda, permitindo que a estrutura OXC seja expandida para novos comprimentos de onda e novas fibras de entrada com a adição de novos módulos. Uma pluralidade de comutadores de módulo principal compreendendo módulos de adicionar/remover dois canais são conectados com um comutador de módulo de junção comum. Para M comprimentos de onda sobre N fibras comutadas dentro da OXC, cada dos N/2 módulos principais inclui M blocos de construção separados cada um compreendendo dois módulos de adicionar/remover, e o módulo de junção inclui MxN/2 matrizes de seleção para o módulo principal N/2 e MxN divisores ópticos passivos tendo uma entrada e (N/2-1) saída. Os blocos de construção de módulo principal e as matrizes de seleção de módulo de junção proporcionam modularidade de comprimento de onda e fibra e expansibilidade para o OXC.
