Abstract

PROCESSO PARA CARACTERIZAR MICROORGANISMOS E, APARELHO PARA A TRIAGEM DE MICROORGANISMOS". Processo para caracterizar microorganismos Aparelho para a triagem de microorganismos A invenção refere-se a um processo e aparelho para caracterizar microorganismos. A invenção usa dados espectrais de espectrometria de massa de tempo de vóo, de ionização por dessorção a laser, auxiliada por matriz, (MALDI-TOF-MS) para uma faixa de microorganismos conhecidos. Este dado espectral é incluído em uma base de dados para dados espectrais de cada um dos microorganismos conhecidos. Uma amostra de um microorganismo não identificado é preparada e então submetida a análise por técnicas MALDI-TOF-MS para produzir os dados espectrais do organismo desconhecido. Este dado é então comparado; usando meios de comparação apropriados com os dados espectrais na base de dados. A similaridade indica o gênero enquanto a identidade indica o microorganismo específico. O aparelho para esta análise tem a vantagem de que uma vez ajustado e calibrado, ele é relativamente simples de usar.
