Abstract

COMPOSIÇÃO DE RAÇÃO ANIMAL PARA REDUZIR EMISSÕES GASOSAS, E, MÉTODO DE REDUÇÃO DE EMISSÕES GASOSAS DE UM ANIMAL NÃO HUMANO, E, USO DE UMA COMPOSIÇÃO DE RAÇÃO ANIMAL. São divulgadas composições de ração animal compreendendo uma saponina extraída de uma planta não lenhosa do gênero Hesperaloe. Os extratos contendo saponina, que geralmente constituem a fração solúvel em água, são úteis como aditivos na alimentação animal básica para reduzir a produção de amônia. Em certas modalidades, as composições contendo saponina da presente invenção podem inibir microrganismos proteolíticos, reduzindo a amônia e melhorando o bem-estar animal e o desempenho animal. Em outras modalidades, a administração de composições contendo saponina da presente invenção a animais não humanos inibe a liberação de amônia gasosa através da inibição da urease. As composições da presente invenção podem ser administradas a animais não humanos, particularmente aves domésticas, para reduzir as emissões de amônia. Em certas modalidades, a composição de alimentação animal compreende uma ração animal basal e um extrato de uma planta não lenhosa do gênero Hesperaloe, o extrato compreendendo 25(27)-dehidrofucreastatina, 5(6), 25(27)disdehidroiucaloisídeo C, 5(6)disdehidroiucaloisídeo C, furcreastatina, iucaloisídeo, ou uma mistura dos mesmos.
