Abstract

COMPOSIÇÃO IMUNOLÓGICA ÚTIL PARA INDUZIR A PRODUÇÃO DE ANTICORPOS PARA UM ANTÍGENO EM UM ANIMAL NÃO HUMANO, E, USO DA MESMA. São divulgadas novas composições farmacêuticas para alimentação animal e métodos de tratamento de animais não humanos compreendendo pelo menos um componente selecionado a partir do(s) extrato(s), fração(ões), composto(s) ativo(s) e fitoquímico(s), ou misturas destes, derivados de plantas não lenhosas do gênero Hesperaloe. As composições de ração animal podem compreender uma ração animal basal e sólidos solúveis em água extraídos de uma planta não lenhosa do gênero Hesperaloe e compreendendo pelo menos uma saponina. Os sólidos solúveis em água podem compreender de cerca de 5 a cerca de 30% em peso de saponina. As composições da presente invenção podem ser utilizadas para o tratamento de animais não humanos, tais como aves domésticas e mais particularmente para a prevenção e tratamento da coccidiose. Uma modalidade fornece uma composição imunológica útil para induzir a produção de anticorpos para um antígeno em um animal não humano compreendendo um antígeno, preferencialmente um coccídio, e uma composição de saponina extraída de Hesperaloe. As saponinas extraídas da biomassa de Hesperaloe podem compreender 25(27)-desidrofucreastatina, 5(6), 25(27)-disdehidroiucaloisídeo C, 5(6)-disdehidroiucaloisídeo C, furcreastatina e iucaloisídeo C.
