a presente invenção refere-se a um método de determinação da qualidade do sêmen de animais vertebrados. esse método compreende as etapas a seguir: - medição de pelo menos um espectro de absorção de amostras do mencionado sêmen; - seleção de número n de números de ondas ¿j (j¿[1;n]) características dos sêmens da raça ou da espécie do mencionado animal; - determinação, a partir do(s) mencionado(s) espectro(s) de absorção, de valor da absorção xj e/ou de valor do segundo derivado da absorção xj? (j¿[1;n]) para cada um dos mencionados números de ondas ¿j (j¿[1;n]); e - cálculo de taxa de não retorno y em quantidade de dias previamente definida a partir dos mencionados valores de absorção xj e/ou do segundo derivado da absorção xj? previamente determinados.
