a presente invenção refere-se a um processo para produção de polímeros hidrossolúveis ou intumescíveis em água, contendo dimetiltaurato de acriloíla, monômeros neutros e monômeros com grupos carboxilato. os monômeros são polimerizados por radicais em precipitação em um solvente polar ou em uma mistura de solventes, com a condição, de que, quando o solvente polar contém 2-metil-2-propanol, uma cetona ou ambos, deve estar contido um outro solvente orgânico polar.
