Abstract

DISPOSITIVO E MÉTODO PARA USO DE TERAPIA FOTODINÂMICA. A presente invenção se refere a um aparelho que inclui uma fonte de luz que possibilita o tratamento intra craniano de uma região de tecido de um cérebro de um paciente. O aparelho de tratamento intracraniano compreende uma haste externa que tem uma extremidade proximal e uma extremidade distal para posicionamento na região de tecido do cérebro. A haste externa define um lúmen que se estende entre a extremidade proximal e a extremidade distal da haste externa e que tem pelo menos uma abertura adjacente à extremidade distal da haste externa. Um elemento de distribuição de luz interno que tem uma extremidade distal e uma extremidade proximal é adaptado para ser conectado de modo operacional à fonte de luz. O elemento de distribuição de luz é configurado para ser recebido no lúmen e se estender da extremidade proximal da haste até as adjacências da extremidade distal da haste. O elemento de distribuição de luz é adaptado para distribuir luz da fonte de luz através da pelo menos uma abertura da haste externa para a região de tecido do cérebro próxima à extremidade distal da haste externa.
