resumo patente de invenção: "conversor catalítico". a presente invenção refere-se a um conversor catalítico que torna eficaz o uso do catalisador constituinte inteiro para purificar um gás de exaustão e minimiza a emissão de sulfeto de hidrogênio. ¶o dito conversor catalítico (10) compreende as camadas de catalisador de metal nobre (2a, 2b) formadas, na direção longitudinal de um substrato com estrutura de célula (1) através do qual circula um gás, nas paredes da célula do dito substrato (1). o substrato (1) compreende uma região central (1a) que tem uma densidade de célula relativamente elevada e uma região periférica (1b) que tem uma densidade de célula relativamente baixa e, na direção longitudinal, a camada de catalisador (2b) na região periférica (1b) tem o mesmo comprimento ou é mais curta do que a camada de catalisador (2a) na região central¶ (1a).
