resumo sequência de nucleotídeo que codifica proteína homeobox4 (wox4) relacionada com wuschel de corchorus olitorius e corchorus capsularis e métodos de uso das mesmas a presente invenção revela polinucleotídeos isolados que codificam proteínas homeobox4 relacionadas com wuschel a partir de duas espécies de plantas de juta, a saber, o corchorus olitorius ("c. olitorius") e corchorus capsularis ("c. capsularis"), e polipeptídeos correspondentes derivados destes. as sequências polinucleotídicas divulgadas codificam polipeptídeos homeobox4 relacionados com wuschel (wox4), que possuem atividades catalíticas no aumento da produção de fibra em juta. a presente invenção também se refere às plantas com uma expressão modulada de um ácido nucleico que codifica um polipeptídeo wox4, que têm a fibra reforçada em relação ao rendimento de plantas de tipo selvagem correspondente ou de outras plantas de controle. vetores, constructos de expressão e células hospedeiras que compreendem e/ou que consistem nas sequências de nucleotídeos da proteína são também fornecidas. também são descritos métodos para produzir as proteínas e métodos para a modificação das proteínas de modo a melhorar as suas características desejáveis. as proteínas da invenção podem ser usadas em uma variedade de formas, incluindo a indução, iniciação, melhora, ou potencializar o crescimento das plantas, altura da planta, de fibra e produção de sementes.
