resumo patente de invenção: "ferramenta de corte de fibra óptica". a presente invenção refere-se a uma ferramenta portátil, manual, para cortar as fibras ópticas em um processo de clivagem. a ferramenta de corte compreende um corpo dentro do qual a fibra ópti-ca é sustentada para a rotação em relação ao corpo, em torno de um eixo no interior do corpo. a fibra óptica é limitada por meio de suportes de movimentos ao longo do seu eixo. um atuador move uma broca de corte ortogonal em relação ao eixo da fibra. o atuador pode ser um atuador piezoelétrico, tal como em um tubo que se curva sob a tensão aplicada, assim movendo a fibra, a qual é montada no tubo. em uma modalidade, a ferramenta de corte tem uma única broca de corte. em uma outra modalidade, a ferramenta de corte é atuada ao invés da fibra, e a ferramenta tem múltiplas brocas de corte (n) que podem ser atuadas contra a fibra óptica de maneira simultânea..
