Abstract
resumo método para tratamento de uma superfície de um material contendo celulose; e produto resultante do processo a presente invenção descreve métodos de tratamento de materiais celulósicos com uma composição que provê hidrofobicidade aumentada a esses materiais sem sacrificar sua característica biodegradável. os métodos, conforme revelados, provêem esterificação de grupos hidroxila disponíveis em materiais celulósicos, em que esses grupos hidroxila são "mascarados" por cadeias orgânicas volumosas, incluindo os produtos que a revelação provê, feitos por esses métodos. os materiais assim tratados exibem maior hidrofobicidade, função de barreira e propriedades mecânicas, e podem ser utilizados em qualquer aplicação em que esses aspectos são desejados.
