Abstract
FORMAÇÃO DE GOTÍCULA COM USO DE DECOMPOSIÇÃO DE FLUIDO. A presente invenção refere-se a sistemas e métodos para criação de gotículas. Em um aspecto, uma pluralidade de gotículas (27) é introduzida em uma corrente de fluido contínua (21) para induzí-la a formar gotículas distintas. Em alguns casos, as gotículas formadas a partir da corrente podem ser substancialmente monodispersas. A corrente pode, em alguns casos, ser uma corrente de jateamento fluindo em taxa de fluxo linear relativamente alta e, em certas modalidades, altas taxas de formação de gotícula do fluido de jateamento podem ser atingidas. Adicionalmente, certos aspectos da invenção são, em geral, direcionados a dispositivos, como dispositivos microfluídicos, com capacidade para formar tais gotículas. Por exemplo, em um conjunto de modalidades, um dispositivo pode incluir uma junção (14) onde uma pluralidade de gotículas pode ser introduzida em uma corrente de fluido contínua e, opcionalmente, o dispositivo pode incluir junções adicionais (12) com capacidade para induzir a formação da pluralidade de gotículas e/ou a formação da corrente de fluido contínua.
