resumo patente de invenção: "método para dimensionar e posicionar o isolamento do conversor catalítico". a presente invenção refere-se a um substrato usado em uma câmara do conversor catalítico para a qual um cano de entrada cilíndrico leva e tem uma parte de zona catalítica interna, uma parte de zona catalítica externa e um material de isolamento que separa termicamente as partes. o isolamento se estende através do substrato e tem uma seção transversal uniforme substancialmente definida pela interseção dos dois cilindros nocionais e da face a montante do substrato, sendo que cada cilindro nocional tem: um diâmetro nominal que é entre 1,08 e 1,20 do diâmetro do cano de entrada; uma espessura de 1 a 4 mm; e um eixo geométrico alinhado com a direção do gás no ponto de velocidade máxima na interseção do cano de entrada e da câmara. um dos cilindros é associado ao fluxo de gás no limite inferior da faixa de operação e o outro dos cilindros é associado ao fluxo de gás no limite superior da faixa de operação.
