Abstract

Métodos para a fabricação das paredes celulares das plantas compreendendo a quitina. A presente invenção refere-se a métodos e meios para a modificação da reatividade das paredes celulares secundárias das plantas, particularmente nas paredes celulares do algodão encontradas nas fibras de algodão. Isto pode ser convenientemente obtido expressando um gene quimérico que codifica uma quitina sintase de saprolegnia monoica nas plantas de algodão.
