método e aparelho para manipular uma corrente de gás de evaporação. uma corrente de gás de evaporação (bog) (15) de um tanque de armazenamento de hidrocarbonetos liquefeito é dividida em uma corrente de alimentação de trocador de calor de bog (25) e uma corrente de derivação de bog (35). a corrente de alimentação de trocador de calor de bog (25) troca calor em um trocador de calor de bog (40) contra uma corrente de processo (135), produzindo no mesmo uma corrente aquecida de bog (45) e uma corrente de processo resfriada (195). a corrente aquecida de bog (45) é combinada com a corrente de derivação de bog (35) para produzir uma corrente de bog de temperatura controlada (55). aqui, o fluxo de massa da corrente de processo (135) é controlado em resposta a uma primeira temperatura medida em pelo menos (i) uma corrente de bog aquecida (45) e (ii) a corrente de processo resfriada (195) para mover a primeira temperatura medida na direção de uma primeira temperatura de ponto de ajuste; e o fluxo de massa de uma ou de ambas, a corrente de alimentação do trocador bog (25) e a corrente de derivação de bog (35) são controladas em resposta à segunda temperatura medida na temperatura da corrente de bog controlada (55), para mover a segunda temperatura medida na direção de uma segunda temperatura de ponto de ajuste.
