Abstract

"MéTODO DE TRATAMENTO PóS-COLHEITA PARA A SUPRESSãO DE INFESTAçãO BIOLóGICA E SUBSEQuENTE APODRECIMENTO EM SAFRAS COLHIDAS, E, COMPOSIçãO DE MATéRIA úTIL PARA TRATAR SAFRAS COLHIDAS PARA REDUZIR A INFESTAçãO DAS MESMAS". Novos processos e combinações de matéria para tratamento de produtos hortifrutícolas frescos para selar caules recém-cortados com a finalidade de reduzir perda de umidade e inibir infestação por fungos, mofo e insetos no local onde o produto foi separado dos caules das plantas. Ceras naturais e comercialmente produzidas são modificadas com elastómeros para se tornarem eficazes para selagem do produto em temperaturas ambientes e refrigeradas, reduzindo, assim, a perda de umidade, reduzindo o oxigênio embaixo da cera, e prevenindo, desta forma, a infestação. O resultado é perda reduzida do produto hortifrutícola fresco devido à perda de umidade e infestação; uma alternativa segura, económica e ambientalmente superior a fungicidas e biocidas, com oportunidades de melhoria de qualidade no mercado em geral.
