Abstract
"ISCAS HERMETICAMENTE VEDADAS PARA CUPINS SUBTERRâNEOS". A presente invenção refere-se a uma isca de celulose que é vedada hermeticamente com um material não-biodegradável através do qual os cupins podem escavar túnel ou mastigar. Os envoltórios da invenção exposta são preferivelmente feitos de um material maleável/flexível. Pelo fato de que a isca é hermeticamente vedada ("iscas HS") em um invólucro resistente ao tempo, ela pode permanecer no ambiente por períodos prolongados até que a alimentação do cupim ocorra. Não somente a isca é protegida, o ambiente é também protegido contra o tóxico porque o tóxico fica completamente preso até que ele é encontrado pelos cupins à procura de suprimentos. Esse novo sistema de isca não exige monitoração. Tais iscas podem ser colocadas em grandes quantidades nos lugares onde a monitoração não é prática e/ou económica. Os pacotes de isca exposta podem ser distribuídos em grandes quantidades nos campos agrícolas ou em grandes áreas tal como uma cidade inteira para controle da população de área ampla de cupins subterrâneos. A invenção exposta também proporciona vantagens surpreendentes associadas com o desvio da inspeção e substituição da isca; a invenção exposta elimina o "ato de evitar a estação" por algumas espécies de cupim. Em outras modalidades preferidas, as iscas HS da invenção exposta podem ser usadas em conjunto com alojamentos de estação duráveis e sólidos.
