Abstract

"COMPOSIçãO DE REVESTIMENTO AQUOSA, E, MéTODO PARA ESTABILIZAR A MESMA". São descritas composições de revestimento aquosas de elevado pH, contendo microbicida de 3-isotiazolona, que foram estabilizadas contra a degradação da 3-isotiazolona pela adição de baixos níveis de íon cobre. Em particular, composições de tinta aquosas, contendo compostos de amina de ajuste de pH, onde o pH é acima de 9,5, são efetivamente estabilizadas quando 1 a 200 ppm de íon cobre são adicionados à composição de tinta, antes da 3-isotiazolona ser combinada com outros componentes de tinta ou se íon cobre for adicionado junto com a 3-isotiazolona aos componentes restantes de tinta ou se a 3-isotiazolona for adicionada não mais do que 1 hora antes do íon cobre ser adicionado à composição.
