Abstract

"SISTEMA DE LIGANTE/RESINA PARA PREPARAçãO DE PRODUTOS DE FIBRA DE VIDRO DE BAIXO ODOR". Resinas/ligantes amina modificados, de baixo peso molecular, estáveis ao armazenamento e infinitamente hidrossolúveis (por exemplo, resinas e ligantes de fenol-formaldeído do tipo resol produzidos) são utilizados para produzir produtos de fibra de vidro de baixo odor, tal como isolamento de fibra de vidro para pára-choque de automóvel e divisórias. Os produtos de fibra de vidro ligados, curados, apresentam baixa emissão de TMA (trimetilamina) porque o formaldeído livre na resina foi extraído com melamina, que resiste a decomposição térmica e em virtude do ligante possuir um conteúdo relativamente baixo de uréia, que é um contribuidor da TMA. O processo de produção da resina do tipo resol inclui a adição de dois extratores diferentes do formaldeído (por exemplo, melamina e uréia) para produzir uma resina de fenol-formaldeído do tipo resol modificada. Esta resina do tipo resol é produzida em um ligante pela mistura com água, opcionalmente na presença de um catalisador ácido latente (por exemplo, sal de amónia de um ácido forte). O ligante pode ser aplicado a um material a base de fibra de vidro, seco, armazenado por um longo período de tempo e então curado e moldado para um formato final desejado.
