Um complexo inclui (1) uma sonda contendo uma seq³ência de sonda heteropolimórica de ácidos nucléicos ou análogos de ácidos nucléicos; e, (2) um alvo contendo uma seq³ência alvo heteropolimérica de ácidos nucléicos ou análogos de ácidos nucléicos, onde: (a) ao menos a dita sonda ou dito alvo é purificado ou sintético; e, (b) dita seq³ência de sonda heteropolimérica está ligada à dita seq³ência alvo heteropolimérica pela interação de base complementar de Watson-Crick ou por interação de base homóloga, desde que quando o dito complexo é um duplex a dita seq³ência de sonda heteropolimérica é antiparalela à dita seq³ência alvo heteropolimérica, dita seq³ência de sonda heteropolimérica está ligada à dita seq³ência alvo heteropolimórica por interação de base homóloga, e desde que quando o dito complexo é um triplex, o dito complexo está livre de proteínas recombinantes.
