Abstract

"SISTEMA E MéTODO PARA CALIBRAR DINAMICAMENTE A CRONOMETRAGEM DE UMA ESTAçãO BASE POR MEIO DE INFORMAçõES DE LOCALIZAçãO". Trata-se de um sistema e um método para calibrar dinamicamente uma estação base em um sistema de comunicação sem fio. De acordo com uma modalidade da invenção, o sistema inclui uma estação base para transmitir, receber e processar sinais de comunicação e um dispositivo de comunicação sem fio para comunicar-se com a estação base. O dispositivo de comunicação sem fio é configurado para determinar sua localização (como, por exemplo, por meio de informações GPS), para detectar a hora de chegada de um primeiro sinal transmitido da estação base e para calcular um retardo de linha de mira (LOS) correspondente à distâncias de LOS entre o dispositivo de comunicação sem fio e a estação base. O cálculo da distância de LOS é baseado nas informações de localização da estação base e nas informações de localização do dispositivo de comunicação sem fio. A estação base mede um retardo de ida e volta (RTD) que corresponde ao retardo incorrido pelo primeiro sinal e um retardo incorrido por um segundo sinal transmitido do dispositivo de comunicação sem fio de volta à estação base em resposta ao primeiro sinal. A estação base em seguida determina um erro de calibração de cronometragem da estação base com base no retardo de LOS, na hora de chegada do primeiro sinal e no RTD e calibra dinamicamente a cronometragem da estação base de modo a compensar o erro de calibração de cronometragem da estação base.
