Abstract

"MéTODO, E, SISTEMA PARA DESSULFURIZAR UMA CORRENTE DE COMBUSTìVEL". Um método para processamento de combustível que é operável para remover substancialmente todo o enxofre em um suprimento de material combustível de hidrocarbonetos oxigenados não diluído que contém oxigenados e que é usado para acionar uma planta de energia com célula de combustível em um ambiente movel tal como um automóvel , ónibus, caminhão, embarcação ou similar, ou em um ambiente estacionário. A fonte de hidrogênio combustível 4 para a planta de energia pode ser gasolina, combustível diesel ou outros combustíveis similares que contenham níveis relativamente altos de compostos orgânicos com enxofre tais como mercaptanos, sulfetos, bissulfetos e similares. O suprimento de combustível de hidrocarbonetos não diluído é passado através de um leito de dessulfurização 8 com reagente de níquel onde essencialmente todo o enxofre dos compostos orgânicos com enxofre reage com o reagente de níquel e é convertido a sulfeto de níquel, enquanto o suprimento de combustível de hidrocarbonetos agora dessulfurizado continua através do restante do sistema de processamento do combustível. O método envolve adicionar hidrogênio 34 à corrente de combustível antes da etapa de dessulfurização. O método pode ser usado para dessulfurizar uma corrente de combustível tanto líquida como gasosa. A adição de hidrogênio serve para estender a vida útil do reagente de níquel. O hidrogênio pode ser derivado de uma fonte de hidrogênio gasoso puro, de uma corrente de gás de reciclo, ou pode ser derivado de uma célula de eletrólise que separa a água produzida na célula de combustível em seus componentes hidrogênio e oxigênio. O hidrogênio quando adicionado ao material combustível serve para evitar ou minimizar a formação de carbono no leito reagente de níquel, estendendo deste modo a vida útil do leito de reagente, uma vez que os depósitos de carbono tendem a bloquear locais ativos no leito de reagente.
