Abstract

Numerosos proceos en la industria química dan lugar a corrientes de fluido que comprenden gases ácidos, por ejemplo, CO2, H2S, SO2, CS2, HCN, COS omercaptanos como impurezas. El GLP o corrientes de gas en cuestion aquí pueden ser, por ejemplo, gasesde hidrocarburo provenientes de una fuente de gasnatural, gases sintéticos de procesos químicos o, digamos, gases de reaccion involucrados en la oxidacion parcial de materiales orgánicos, por ejemplo, carbono petroleo. La remocion de compuestos deaz ufre de estas corrientes de fluido es de particular importancia por varias razones. El nivel de compeustos de azufreen el gas natural ha de ser reducido inmediatamente en la fuente de un gas natural, ya que el gas natural contiene cierta fraccionde agua atrapada así comocompuestos de azufre antes citados. En soluciona cuosa, estos compuestos de azufre esán presentes como ácido y tiene un efecto corrosivo. En consecuencia, paratransportar el gas natural en una tubería se deben cumplir conlímite s predeterminados con respecto a las impurezas que contienen azufre. Además, numerososcompuestos de azufre tienen mal olor y, con sulfuro de hidrogeno (H2S) como ejemplo principal, son extremadamente toxicos incluso a bajas concentraciones.Enforma s imilar, el contenido de CO2 de gases de hidrocarburos, tales como gas natural, normalmente tiene que ser reducido, ya que altas concentraciones de CO2reducen el valor calorífico del gas y de la misma manera puede producir corrosion a laslíneas de op eracion y accesorios. En consecuencia ya existen numerososprocesos para la remocion de constituyentes de gas ácido de corrientes de fluido tales como gases de hidrocarburos, GLP o LGN. En los procesos más ampliamenteusados, la mezlca defluido que co ntiene gases ácido se pone en contacto con un solvente orgánico (o con una solucion acuosa de un solvente orgánico) en unlavado de gas o una extraccion líquido -líquido.
