A presente invenção refere-se a um método de aumento da eficiência com que o combustível é queimado em um aparelho de queima de combustível, particularmente um motor a combustão interna, que compreende a dispersão de uma quantidade de pelo menos um óxido de lantanídeo paticulado, particularmente óxido de cério, no combustível.
