Abstract

"COMPOSIçõES MODIFICADAS POR REOLOGIA E AGENTES DE MODIFICAçãO". A invenção refere-se a um método de produção de uma composição aquosa de reologia modificada, particularmente útil para aplicações em perfuração, moagem e mineração. O método inclui misturar, com uma argila e água, um material ou materiais cujos constituintes obedecem substancialmente às proporções da fórmula empírica M'~ m~M"~ n~(OH)~ (2m + 3n + qa + br)~(A^ q^)~ a~(B^ r^)~ b~ xH~ 2~O, onde M' representa pelo menos um cátion de metal divalente e m é uma quantidade de maior que zero até cerca de 8; onde M" representa pelo menos um cátion de metal trivalente e n é uma quantidade de maior que zero até cerca de 6; onde A é um ânion ou radical de valência negativa que é monovalente ou polivalente, e a é uma quantidade de íons A de valência q, desde que se A for monovalente, a é maior que zero até cerca de 8, e se A for polivalente, a é maior que zero até cerca de 4; onde B é um segundo ânion ou radical de radical de valência negativa que é monovalente ou polivalente, e onde b é uma quantidade de B íons de valência r e b é de zero até cerca de 4, desde que (m + n) seja maior ou igual a 1; também desde que qa + br não possa ser maior que 2m + 3n e desde que qa não possa ser igual a 2m + 3n; e ainda desde que (2m + 3n + qa + br) é menor que 3; e onde xH~ 2~O representa o excesso de água de hidratação, com x sendo zero ou mais. Materiais como hidrotalcite calcinada e materiais similares à hidrotalcite são particularmente preferidos como materiais de partida. Opcionalmente, um óxido de alumínio, um composto contendo nitrogênio, ou ambos podem ser adicionados. A composição resultante é preferivelmente um sólido elástico exibindo fluidez dependente do estresse, resistência desejável à temperatura, inibição de reatividade, custo relativamente baixo, e resistência à pressão.
