Abstract

"MéTODO PARA REDUZIR POLUENTES DO ESCAPAMENTO DE UM MOTOR DIESEL". A invenção refere-se a um processo para reduzir o nível de poluentes no escapamento de um motor diesel, compreendendo: operar o dito motor diesel usando como o combustível uma emulsão combustível de água-diesel; e contatar o dito gás de escape do dito motor diesel com um catalisador de oxidação. o catalisador de oxidação pode ser na forma de um monólito celular (10) . O monolito celular (10) pode ser uma extrusão cerâmica (12) . O monolito (10) é na forma de uma estrutura alveolar tendo pequenos canais paralelos (20) correndo axialmente dentro deste. As paredes do canal são revestidas com um washcoat de oxidação inorgânico (16) em o catalisador (18) é depositado sobre o washcoat (16) . Depósitos de washcoat (22) espessos são formados nos cantos das células do washcoat (16).
