Abstract

"DISPOSITIVO DE ESPELHO ELETROQUìMICO REVERSìVEL PARA CONTROLAR A REFLEXãO DE RADIAçãO ELETROMAGNéTICA". Um espelho eletroquímico reversível (REM) inclui um primeiro eletrodo (106) e um segundo eletrodo (110), um dos quais é substancialmente transparente. Uma solução eletrolítica (112), disposta entre o primeiro e o segundo eletrodos, contém íons (116) de um metal que pode eletrodepositar sobre os eletrodos dependendo do potencial aplicado. A solução eletrolítica também contém ânions haleto e/ou pseudo-haletos tendo uma relação de concentração molar total de pelo menos 6:1 comparado aquela do metal eletrodepositável. é usualmente necessário aplicar uma camada de modificação de superfície (108) ao primeiro eletrodo para assegurar nucleação uniforme de forma que um eletrodepósito de espelho tendo reflexividade alta é obtido.
