Abstract

"FILME DE ESTICAMENTO POSSUINDO BORDAS VEDADAS POR CALOR" Um filme altamente esticado possui bordas permanentemente vedadas por calor que são quase invisíveis. Um aparelho de dobra, dobra as partes de borda de um filme para formar bordas dobradas. O filme dobrado é então passado através de um mecanismo de freio possuindo dois cilindros aquecidos. Uma série de estreitamentos aplicam pressão ao filme dobrado à medida em que o mesmo é aquecido pelos cilindros aquecidos. A pressão do estreitamento, combinada com o calor impresso pelos cilindros aquecidos, causa a solda térmica das bordas dobradas resultando em bordas permanentemente vedadas por calor. Visto que as bordas do filme são dobradas antes do esticamento por calor, o processo de esticamento por calor realiza funções duplas de esticamento do filme e vedação por aquecimento das bordas dobradas. O filme esticado resultante possui bordas permanentemente vedadas por calor que não se separam, e que impedem o rasgo das bordas do filme durante o processamento subsequente e uso.
