Mémoire descriptif déposé à l'appui de la DEMANDE DE BREVET D'INVENTION JOINT-ENTRETOISE POUR RIDEAUX ROULANTS I. S. E. A. S. r. l.
Inventeur : NEGRINI Ferdinando
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>

Descriptive memorandum filed in support of the PATENT INVENTION JOINT-SPACER APPLICATION FOR ROLLING CURTAINS I. S. E. A. S. r. l.
Inventor: NEGRINI Ferdinando
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The present invention relates to a joint-spacer for rolling shutters, particularly intended for the connection between the different types of differently shaped horizontal bars, which contribute to the formation of curtains called "non-blind visibility".
We know that there are currently seals on the market that allow this solution, of the type connecting one to the other two or three horizontal bars as necessary.
In order for this function to be carried out, suitably shaped thin sheets are used, according to the simplest and economical solution, intended to receive the corrugated bars forming the curtain in coupling.
During a phase subsequent to the assembly of the curtain, these thin sheets are folded and closed so that the bars are kept tightly adhered; it is obvious that this fairly easy closing operation also appears easy in the opening or "break-in" phase, which affects the security of these joints, especially when it comes to joints relating to the connection of a third bar. right where the rear closure can only be a simple folding.
In order to overcome this drawback, other seals formed from two sockets parallel to one another, already closed, have been made, joined to one another by means of a stirrup developing perpendicular to them. ci, in these sockets being introduced the bars forming the curtain, horizontal, straight and parallel to each other.
This type of joint is practical and well accepted since it makes assembly easy and is relatively easy.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
very inexpensive. However, in its current structure, it has a drawback which can jeopardize its security: in fact said joint, in consideration of the shape of its generally flat stirrup, allows quick and easy grip on the part of cutting nippers or other tools similar, making it easy to open or "break in", thereby compromising the function of the entire curtain.
In order to overcome this important drawback, other seals of this second type have been created where the stirrup-shaped element which connects the two sockets has a more remarkable width compared to the previous one.
This technical solution results in actually giving more security to the curtain as a whole, but, in turn, has the disadvantage that the seal in this case has a higher cost price.
In this situation, the aim of the present invention is to design a seal which eliminates the drawbacks mentioned above, making the operator's task easier during its production and at the same time ensuring greater safety for the curtain assembly. obtained using said seal.
Another object of the present invention is to design a joint able to replace, thanks to its particular structure, a high number of previous joints, or else which can be used interchangeably for the connection of two or three horizontal bars.
Within the framework of this particular aim it is an important aim of the present invention to design a joint of simple structure, economical and easy to implement by the industries of the sector.
These and other goals that will emerge
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
subsequently are reached by the joint in question, characterized in that it has a substantially rectangular face wall which is elongated, provided in the center with two folds parallel to one another and which develop perpendicularly and at the rear relative to said wall, and provided with correspondingly arranged through holes, this wall also being provided, on its two sides, corresponding to its free ends, with a pair of wings which can be folded back , capable of forming a substantially cylindrical housing with an axis parallel to the axis of said through holes.
Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will emerge more clearly from the following detailed description of a preferred embodiment, given simply by way of non-limiting example with reference to the appended drawings, in which: - the figure 1 is a perspective view of the joint in question; - Figure 2 is a front view of a curtain portion which uses the seal shown in Figure 1, also showing the connection of the second bar to the base base; - Figure 3 is a side view of the same portion shown in Figure 2.
Referring to these figures, the seal according to the invention is generally indicated at 1. It is provided with a front wall 2 of substantially elongated rectangular shape, where the central part 5 projects slightly beyond the base plane, so as to define three distinct zones 5, 6, 7. In this way an excellent aesthetic effect is obtained and greater solidity of the whole wall which is provided, on its two sides, with
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
two wings 6 and 7 which can be folded back, so as to form two cylindrical housings 6 ′ and 7 ′, parallel to each other, intended to allow passage of and to contain the bars 8 which form a curtain.
When straight bars are connected, these wings
6 and 7 are provided at their rear part with a hole 6a intended to receive a clamping means not visible in the figure, in order to avoid the relative axial displacement between the bars and the seal.
1 The joint 1 is provided, at its central part 5, with two folds 3 and 5, parallel to each other, which develop perpendicularly and towards the rear of said central wall 5, which partially contain the folded wings 6 and 7. These folds 3 and 4 1 are provided with holes 3 ′ and 4 ′ for the passage of another straight central bar 10 if the joint is used for the formation of three-element curtains (see the figure 2).
The assembly of these seals 1 to the elements of the 1 curtain is fairly simple and rapid.
After having arranged two bars 8 parallel to one another with respect to each other, the latter are introduced into the open ends of the wings 6 and 7 of a joint 1, then performing. the folding operation of the same 1 wings so that they surround said bars.
Once this operation has been completed, other horizontal bars 10 can then be introduced into the appropriate holes 3 ′ and 4 ′ of the folds 3 and 4, until the entire curtain is formed, this operation being 1 very simple and fast.
Referring to Figures 2 and 3, one can note the possibility of using the same joint 1 also
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
ment in correspondence of the fastener 20 between the last bar and the lower base 21 of the curtain, by simply turning the same gasket 1.
Finally, another consideration must be made if one wishes to block bars of smaller dimensions: in this case, the same seal 1 can be used, by introducing reduction sleeves in the housings 6 ′, 7 ′ and another sleeve of reduction between folds 3 and 4.
The joint of the invention achieves the aims, particularly with regard to the possibility of assembling curtains regardless of two or three bars; it also has excellent safety characteristics considering, on the one hand, the presence of the wings 3 and 4 and, on the other hand, the remarkable compactness of the entire joint, which avoids the introduction of break-in tools of all kinds, even in correspondence with the lower base.
Practically the materials used, the shapes and the dimensions can be any, as required.
