<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

Thermo-insulated cladding element.
The present invention relates to a thermally insulated bituminous cladding element.
Cladding elements of this type are known. Bituminous shingles are deposited, for this purpose, on polystyrene or polyurethane foam plates which are generally provided with longitudinal rebates to ensure a better seal and avoid thermal bridges. the cladding elements are generally glued to a formwork fitted with a vapor barrier.
Furthermore, cladding elements are known, the heat-insulating plate of which has metal profiled rails which are introduced therein during foaming so that a formwork is not necessary. In these cases, the thermal insulating plate is wrapped in a metal sheet.
We recommend using all the cladding elements for roof slopes greater than 15.
In the case of weaker inclinations, there is a risk that the rainwater will be flushed under the shingles and completely moisten the thermal insulation layer.
This creates cold bridges which can cause damage to the roof due to frost.
In addition, the cladding elements are relatively rigid so that the formwork must be perfectly flat. This however requires high expenses from the construction of the frame. In the case of fairly old houses, this condition is generally not fulfilled. Therefore, the known thermally insulated cladding elements are only partially suitable for the renovation of old building roofs.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
The object of the present invention is therefore to provide a cladding element which is also suitable for covering roofs having an inclination less than 15 and which does not require perfectly flat formwork.
According to the present invention, the object is achieved by a cladding element which consists of a heat-insulating plate provided with a rebate and in one or more rows of glued bituminous shingles, the heat-insulating plate being provided, at the bottom , transversely to the longitudinal direction, of at least two notches, each over a length of one meter, and the row of bituminous shingles being provided, at the upper part, at the upper edge, with a continuous self-adhesive strip .
The cladding element and the insulating plate are preferably bonded, over their entire surface, using a polyurethane adhesive.
When installing the shingles, the tongue of the shingle is fixed by means of the conventional fixing points by gluing on the row of shingles already laid. The bituminous shingles are simultaneously assembled in a leaktight manner with the row already laid by means of the continuous adhesive strip so that during an offset installation of the elements, water cannot penetrate into the slot between the heat-insulating plates. . Bituminous adhesives are particularly suitable as an adhesive for the adhesive strip.
The heat-insulating plates comprising the notches adapt very well to the irregularities of the support and also take up the usual deformations of construction without the cladding element tearing.
The invention will be described in more detail with reference to the appended figures in which:
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
Figure 1 shows a cladding element with corrugated shingles; Figure 2 is a section through the cladding element of Figure 1; and Figure 3 shows a cladding element of the invention with rectangular shingles.
Referring to the figures, it can be seen that the shape of the shingles is not important and that other shapes can also be provided, for example triangular shingles.
The cladding element according to the invention consists of a heat-insulating plate 1 provided with a rebate 2 and one or more shingles 3. The heat-insulating plate 1 has at least two notches 4 at its lower part, over a length of one meter in a direction transverse to the longitudinal direction. The row of bituminous shingles is provided at the upper part with a continuous self-adhesive strip 5. The shingle is advantageously glued over its entire surface to the heat-insulating plate by means of a polyurethane adhesive.
During installation, the tabs of the shingles are fixed to the row already laid by means of glue dots 6 and the cladding element is simultaneously assembled in a leaktight manner with the row already laid by means of the self-adhesive strip 5 which advantageously consists of a bituminous adhesive.
According to Figure 2, 4 transverse to the longitudinal direction of the cladding element has a depth which corresponds to approximately half the thickness of the element. This notch can be produced by milling using a disc cutter, by cutting with knives or a heating filament or the like.
The bonding points 6 are self-adhesive like the adhesive strip 5 and are protected in a conventional manner.

during manufacture to prevent sticking of the elements.
According to a particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention, the insulating plate 1 is provided with a peripheral rebate 2.
