figure 3A ; 90 mm : figure 3B ; 110 mm : figure 3C).
Automatic valve device for sanitary sewage drainage pipes.
The present invention relates to automatic valve devices for sanitary sewage discharge pipes.
Automatic valve devices are already known which are designed in such a way as to prevent communication between the sewage or sewage pipes and the atmosphere in the living quarters and to allow the entry of fresh air into the pipes when depression develops.
These valves meet the requirements
according to which we can eliminate the pipes protruding from the roofs and provide lodged pipes
inside buildings provided that
the general pipe of an automatic valve which does not let out the stale air but which opens to allow air to enter during a depression for example during the evacuation of water closets-
The present invention aims to create devices of simple design intended to solve various important problems associated with the use of such automatic valves.
These issues are:
a) ensure that the operation of the valve is absolutely certain and that the capacity of the valve can be increased; b) allow the use of a single type of valve for the connection of ventilation pipes of different diameters; c) ensure the protection of the valve from a thermal point of view and also against the dangers of introducing foreign bodies such as to prevent correct operation.
The device, object of the invention, is distinguished in that a vertical tube constituting the body of the valve comprises at its upper end a venturi-shaped constriction which cooperates with a cover so as to give rise to an inlet of peripheral air provided with a valve located outside the constriction and which can
lift up when a vacuum occurs in the pipes by allowing fresh air to enter the vertical tube and which when the pressure is balanced
or when there is excess pressure occupies a closed position preventing the polluted air from leaving.
In order to make the invention clearly understood, we
will describe hereinafter some embodiments and applications with reference to the drawings in which:
The figure is a sectional view of the device. FIG. 2 is a detailed sectional view intended to illustrate one of the advantages of the invention.
Figures 3, 3A, 3B, 3C show the possibility of using a single type of automatic valve for pipes of different diameters.
FIG. 4 is a sectional view relating to a variant of the embodiment according to FIG. 1. FIG. 5 shows an example of application of the valve which is the subject of the invention.
As shown in Figure 1, the valve body is formed by a vertical tube 1 connected to a ventilation pipe (not shown in Figure 1)
and which comprises at its upper end a venturi-shaped narrowing constituted by a frustoconical neck 2 terminating in a lip 3 and cooperating with a cover
4 so as to give rise to a peripheral air inlet 5 by forming a channel which can be closed off by an annular valve 6; the latter, located outside the frustoconical neck, rests in the example shown, on a seat formed by the lip 3 and a lip 7 provided on the internal periphery of the cover.
It is understood that when a depression occurs in the vertical tube 1, for example following an emptying, the valve 6 is raised which allows the fresh air to enter through the channel 5 in the tube 1. When the pressure is balanced or when there is overpressure, channel 5 is closed by valve 6 so that polluted air is prevented
to get out.
Due to the fact that the diameter at the inlet of the Venturi, at 3, is smaller than the diameter of cylinder 1, we
obtains an increase in the capacity of the device
which makes possible an adaptation to buildings comprising
a higher number of stages than in the case of known devices.
A feature is that the inner wall 8 of the cover 4 is inclined to such an extent.
that the valve 6 can never be stuck in an oblique or horizontal position in which the valve could remain
in open position when pressure is balanced
(reference 6, figure 2).
In addition, the dimensions are chosen from
so that the valve 6 always covers the air inlet in
its resting position even if it touches the wall on one side.
As shown in Figure 1, around
the cover 4-8 and the end of the cylindrical part
of the body 1 is provided an insulation 9 in which is pierced
a circular hollow 10 putting the outside air in communication with the introduction channel 5.
Usually, the opening 10 for introducing air is provided with an element, for example a net 11, arranged and produced in such a way as to prevent the entry of insects.
or any foreign body.
Insulation 9 keeps the air warm
inside the device and around the moving part 6
preventing the valve from being exposed to the dangers of frost.
On the other hand, for transport the insulation
9 can be completed by a removable part, not shown, covering the entire lower part of cylinder 1.
A strip 12 can be wrapped around
these two parts in order to block the packaging thus designed during transport and to maintain proper functioning during this period.
This tape is removed during use.
FIG. 4 relates to an embodiment which is particularly suitable for implementation in practice.
In this case, the cover constitutes an entirely separate member 4 which fits onto the cylinder 1.
Figures 3, 3A, 3B and 3C show how one can use a single type of valve of sufficient capacity for connecting ventilation pipes 13 of different diameters (for example 50 mm: figure 3; 75 mm:
Figure 3A; 90 mm: Figure 3B; 110 mm: figure 3C).
This possibility can be obtained:
<EMI ID = 1.1> conduit 13 (figures 3-3A) or inside it
(Figures 3b-3C); b) by a variable and appropriate arrangement of the seals 14 (figures 3-3C).
An important advantage is that, in the case
of the invention, the interior of the cylindrical body 1 remains completely free, which allows adaptation in particular to an apparatus such as a siphon.
FIG. 5 shows a residential installation in which a series of devices 21 giving rise to an evacuation of waste water (washbasins, sinks, etc.) are
