<EMI ID=1.1>
1) maintien de la garde d'eau ;
et écoulement de l'air d'une manière intermittente ;
<EMI ID=3.1>
<EMI ID=4.1>

Sanitary installation for the evacuation of waste water with siphon.
The present invention relates to sanitary facilities for evacuating wastewater comprising a siphon with water seal to which is connected a connecting pipe with sewers.
As is well known, a permanent water seal in the siphons of sanitary appliances is
one of the basic criteria for normal operation
a sewage disposal facility.
In an evacuation network, the siphons are subject to various influences, the consequences of which may constitute a malfunction such as suction
the flow of water from the device itself by negative pressure in the connecting pipe; suction caused by the flow of water from other devices.
The object of the present invention is in particular to avoid the loss of water in the siphons and also to obtain improved hydraulic conditions.
With a view to achieving this aim, the installation, object of the invention, is characterized essentially in that with a cylindrical body in which a pipe or an element connected to a sink, washbasin, etc. is immersed. or an outlet with a water seal in the cylindrical body is combined with an automatic valve device for a peripheral air inlet, this assembly intervening so as to fulfill various functions which will be listed below.
The accompanying drawings (Figures 1 to 3) show by way of non-limiting examples how the invention can be put into practice.
In Figure 1 of the accompanying drawings, there is shown a siphon consisting of a cylindrical body in
<EMI ID = 1.1>
and to which is connected a pipe 3 for connection with the sewers.
Into this cylindrical body immerses a pipe 4 connected to a device 5 such as a sink, a washbasin, etc ...
In 6 is formed a water guard.
At its upper end, the valve body comprises a Venturi-shaped constriction formed by a frustoconical neck 7 terminating in a lip 8 cooperating with a cover 9 so as to give rise to an air inlet by forming a peripheral channel 10 which can be closed by an annular valve 11. The latter located outside the frustoconical neck rests, in the example shown, on a seat formed by the lip 8 and by a lip 12 provided on the inner periphery of the cover.
Such a device is described and generally protected in a patent application filed at the same time as the present one.
When a vacuum occurs in the discharge line 3, for example following a drain, the valve 11 is raised which allows fresh air
to enter through channel 10 into pipe 3 (Figure 1A). When the pressure is balanced or when there is overpressure, the channel 10 is closed by the valve 11 so that the polluted air is prevented from leaving.
An apparatus is thus produced in which the automatic valve device 11 and a siphon are combined in a single apparatus such that their functions complement each other.
In such an assembly during a depression, the suction of the water seal 6 formed by the siphon is prevented.
Water can never exceed level N
of the upper part of the outlet 3, for example during a blockage due to the presence of an air cushion
inside cover 9, even if the level
is higher in the dip tube 4 (level L).
On the other hand an important element is that the water flow and that of the air are separated so that the water can flow through the whole pass section- <EMI ID = 2.1>
wise piping and that in the absence of an air core, the dimensions of these piping can thus be reduced and the hydraulic conditions are improved as well as
the yield.
Such an assembly therefore fulfills various functions at the same time:
1) maintaining the water seal;
2) flow of water through the entire section of the pipe
and air flow intermittently;
3) obstacle to the evacuation of polluted air in the premises
inhabited.
The height of the water seal 6 normally 50 mm can be reduced since the valve 11 takes charge of the vacuum (FIG. 1A). However, he
<EMI ID = 3.1>
<EMI ID = 4.1>
4, in the event of overpressure (FIG. 1B).
Consequently, the height of the assembly can be reduced.
FIG. 2 represents the application of the invention to a mouth or grid above wastewater evacuation.
In Figure 2 is shown at 13 a floor, a base or a vault comprising a hole in which is received a grid 14 forming part of an outlet for wastewater through a pipe 15.
This device comprises a pot 16 or container in which a removable basket 17 plunges and which receives the waste water introduced through the grid 14, forming therein a buffer or a hydraulic guard 18.
According to the invention, it is provided
<EMI ID = 5.1> above the container or pot 16 a valve or flap
19 in the form of a ring resting on a seat consisting of:
a) a lip 20 formed by a fold 21 of the basket 17 at its upper part; b) a lip 22 formed by a part 23 fixed under the base or the vault 13.
Under these conditions, when a negative pressure appears in the discharge pipe 15, for example during an emptying, the valve 19 is raised so that fresh air can enter the pipe 15 through the grid 14, and the space 24 between the basket 17 and the periphery of the hole formed in the base 13.
When the pressure is balanced or when there is overpressure, the valve 19 is in the closed position so that the polluted air is prevented from leaving.
The correct functioning of the valve 19 cannot be thwarted because if the water rises in the pot 16 there is always around the valve 19 an air cushion so that this valve cannot be discharged by the water.
An important advantage is that the pot 16 forming a hydraulic guard can be built with a very minimal height (for example less than 100 mm)
which is very important because the vaults or bases can then be executed in a more economical way.
FIG. 3 represents a residential installation in which a series of outlets 25 of the type shown in FIG. 2 are provided at the level of different floors or bases 13,
13 <2>, etc.
