Description
<EMI ID=1.1>
des couches 11 est venue s'appliquer en une position rectiligne contre la face inférieure de la pièce de formage 5 ; c) les vérins 9 sont ensuite mis en action de manière à agir sur les bras 6 et à les amener de la position écartée.en la position rapprochée de la pièce 4 et à comprimer les parties d'extrémité 113 des couches de stratifié entre la pièce 4 et les bras 6 ; d) on enclenche alors le dispositif de chauffage par ultra-sons (figure 3) ; e) après l'écoulement du temps nécessaire pour la prise et le séchage de la colle, le dispositif de chauffage peut être mis hors d'action ; f) les bras 6 sont ramenés en la position écartée ;
Method and apparatus for the manufacture of curved panels of wood or other laminate material.
The present invention relates to a method and to an apparatus for the manufacture of curved panels of laminated wood or of a similar material.
in substance in the shape of an inverted U.
It also concerns furniture and
in particular office furniture produced by the process.
For aesthetic and practical reasons
the furniture and mainly the office furniture are made with rounded corners, in the sense that the connection
of the shelf with the lateral sides is rounded across the entire width of the cabinet.
This type of embodiment poses technical assembly problems, but the known connection or connection systems are not satisfactory and only adversely affect the stability and the external appearance of the furniture.
The aim of the present invention is to produce panels capable of providing an assembly:
shelf-side sides, in one piece with stability and an aesthetic aspect of perfect continuity
and therefore aims to obtain a perfect finish of the edges.
This goal is achieved thanks to the fact that first of all the different layers intended to constitute
the panel are placed on a jig or a movable male forming part and their central part is subjected to the action of pressure and brought into contact with a jig or a fixed female forming part, in that at the end
running up the ends of the panels
are subjected to the action of lateral arms and compressed
and in that means are provided for obtaining the continuity of the rounded edges when the arms are located
in a position perpendicular or substantially perpendicular to the plane of the female forming part.
Other characteristics of the invention will emerge from the description which follows with reference to
to the accompanying drawings in which:
Figure 1 is a schematic elevational view of the forming assembly incorporated in a hydraulic press. Figure 2 is a side view of this assembly.
Figures 3 and 4 are explanatory views showing the different positions of the swivel arm
forming.
FIG. 5 is a perspective view of an example of a panel obtained by the method.
In Figure 1 these drawings, there is shown the frame 1 of a hydraulic press comprising at its upper part a cross member or a fixed plate 2 and at its lower part a table or a movable plate 3 capable of receiving a movement from bottom to top. and up and down.
On table 2 is mounted a male part
or a male shaping jig 4 acting as a punch while on the upper cross member 2 is fixed a female jig or a female part 5 for shaping.
At each of the ends of the template 5 comprising an enlargement forming a block 19 are suspended in an articulated manner arms 6 which are laterally subjected to the action of hydraulic jacks 9 arranged
<EMI ID = 1.1>
the approach or distance of the arms 6 in relation
to the forming part 4.
The articulation of each arm 6 comprises a head 7 which engages in a housing 8 of the jig
fixed 5 thus forming a ball joint and which can be rotated about an axis 7.
It is understood that the arms 6 can thus pivot from a separated position (in solid lines) to a close position (in dotted lines) or vice versa.
The templates 4, 5 and the arms 6 forming the forming device can be made advantageously of wood and consist of several panels made of multiplex or a similar material glued and assembled by bolts 10.
This realization of the forming device
made of wood makes it possible to use ultrasonic heating equipment in the event that the use of a heat source is necessary, for example to accelerate the setting of the adhesive involved in the composition of the panel laminate 11 to fold.
As shown in Figure 3 which shows the relative position of the various elements of the equipment and of the panel 11 at the end of manufacture
the heating source is constituted, in the example shown, by a high frequency generator 12 which is electrically connected on the one hand by one or more conductors 13 to an aluminum sheet 14 matching the outline of the mobile jig 4 and d 'on the other hand by one or more conductors 15 to an aluminum sheet 16 matching the underside of the fixed jig 5 and is extended laterally along the arms 6, that is to say on the side facing the mobile jig 4.
The high frequency waves produced by
the generator 12 are transmitted by the aluminum sheets
14 and 16 serving as electrodes to the panel 11 forming a dielectric body which heats up.
The panels to be formed using the device
Forming are generally carried out in multiplex wood, for example nine plies of wood peel glued together with an outer finishing layer of either veneer wood or laminate (plastic material based on thermosetting resins).
The manufacturing phases can be summarized as follows: a) the various layers intended to constitute the panel are first of all placed on the mobile forming part 4, as shown at 11 (figure
1) following an arc of a circle, coming into contact with each of the upper edges of the template 4.
At this time, the table 2 of the press is in the lowered position and the arms 6 are in the spread position.
b) we then raise the stable 2 and <EMI ID = 2.1>
layers 11 are applied in a rectilinear position against the underside of the forming part 5; c) the jacks 9 are then put into action so as to act on the arms 6 and bring them from the separated position. to the position close to the part 4 and to compress the end parts 113 of the layers of laminate between the part 4 and arms 6; d) the ultrasonic heating device is then activated (FIG. 3); e) after the time required for the adhesive to set and dry, the heating device can be switched off; f) the arms 6 are returned to the separated position;
g) the movable forming part 4 can be lowered by carrying on its upper face and its side faces the panels which have received the desired U-shape.
These can be removed easily.
An important characteristic resides in the means which are provided to obtain in a perfect manner the continuity of the rounded edges.
