<EMI ID=1.1>
<EMI ID=3.1>
<EMI ID=4.1>
<EMI ID=5.1>
<EMI ID=6.1>

Process for manufacturing exhibition bags intended for the presentation of products.
The present invention relates to a continuous manufacturing process for vertically posable exhibition bags intended for the presentation of products.
We know of such exhibition bags which,
<EMI ID = 1.1>
overturn under the action of their own weight, are provided with a bottom having a fold so as to be able to widen like a bellows once widened, this bottom is <EMI ID = 2.1>
and stand vertically.
Such a bottom has for example been made from an additional sheet folded in half and welded to the lower part of the two sheets constituting the sides of the bag.
The aim of the invention is to achieve, at
<EMI ID = 3.1>
bellows-shaped from a single thermoplastically weldable sheet.
The method, which is the subject of the invention, is characterized in that openings are made in the vertical edges of the bellows through which the vertical edges of the faces of the bag can be welded to one another.
In order to make the invention clearly understood,
an embodiment will be described below given to
by way of non-limiting example.
FIG. 1 is a schematic view showing the various stages of production of the bag, object of the invention. Figure 2 is a front view of the web of bags continuously produced by the process of the invention. Figure 3 is a sectional view along the line III-III in Figure 2. Figure 4 is a perspective view of a bag obtained by the process of the invention. FIG. 5 is a perspective view of a detail of the embodiment.
A sheet 1 of material suitable for the manufacture of packaging bags and treated on its face 2
so as to be thermoplastic is unwound from a cylinder 3.
On this sheet 1, there is shown a
center line A and on each side of the latter, at equal distances L, two lines B and C.!
A punch 4 makes two openings 5 and 6, aligned perpendicular to the longitudinal edge of the sheet, between lines A and B as well as A and C; these openings are identical and arranged at the same distance
of line A so that they overlap perfectly when sheet 1 is folded along center line A.
The sheet 1, periodically provided with its openings 5 and 6, is returned by a cylinder 7 to a finger 8 which folds it at right angles longitudinally, according to
<EMI ID = 4.1>
the other by a distance of 2 L; a spur 9 is arranged downstream so as to push line A upwards between
<EMI ID = 5.1>
completely along lines B and C. From this moment, lines B and C as well as holes 5 and 6 are perfectly superimposed (see also figure 5).
The face 2, coated with the thermoplastic material, located on the inside, is welded to each other and through the openings 5 and 6, using the heating elements 10, the two parts of the sheet 1 constituting the sides of the bag. The latter are then welded vertically, using the chamfering elements 11, on an area situated on either side of the vertical line D passing through the center of the openings 5 and 6, and welded horizontally (at 12) along lines B and C.
Finally, a vertical cut is periodically performed along the lines D so as to obtain the bags as shown in Figure 4.
It can thus be seen that, by virtue of the method of the invention, the lines B and C constituting the two edges
the bottom of the bag can be separated from each other to form a base; in fact, when we fill
the bag from the upper side 13 unsealed, the material
is distributed on either side of line A towards the two
bottom edges B and C which, separated from one another
the other, can constitute a base allowing the bag to be placed vertically without it overturning under the action
of its own weight. In addition, the bag does not crash
<EMI ID = 6.1>
adhere perfectly to each other even in the area located
under the median fold line A and this thanks to the sealing carried out through the openings 5 and 6.
