Abstract

Offset printing of sharp definition may be obtained by utilising steel support plates, upon which is electrolytically deposited a Sn layer, prior to deposition of the Cu and Cr layers. Pref., continuous coil of tin plate is used, which has a fine surface finish through cold reduction. The surface finish may be improved by partial fusion of the Sn in a high frequency induction furnace. the thickness of the Cu layer may be reduced from 8-2 mu m, and no further finishing operations need be carried out.
