<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>
<Desc/Clms Page number 8>
<Desc/Clms Page number 9>
<Desc/Clms Page number 10>
<Desc/Clms Page number 11>

<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The present invention $ and relating to a $ tort $ a shutter or the like which is onroulable on a drum or on a rotary member, goes up to? a window or door frame or on a fixed or movable element frame of
EMI2.1
1DJ. \ 'IJ: Z': idlà \\ 0'1 t. pea.ai ùo f & 9 & 41, and which. ot rollable on one side or the other of this chassie or this frame.
The blind or shutter has one of its horizontal edges which is constantly connected to the drum or the rotary member which has been provided with a return spring, or a similar hub thanks to which the blind or the shutter. shutter is rolled up on the drum or on the rotating member and from which it is unwound
There are already such blinds.
In some oeux-oi, the drum is mounted in an upper box which pivots about a horizontal axis fixed with respect to the frame, on either side of the latter, so as to be able to bring the horizontal edge free of the blind on one side or the other of this frame, In this embodiment. only the free horizontal edge of the blind can be lowered while the horizontal edge of said blind. connected to the drum, remains constantly above said frame.
These known blinds have drawbacks.
The passage of the free horizontal edge of the blind from one side of the frame to the other requires a device for controlling the tilting of the box containing the drum. On the other hand, when the blind is engaged on one side or the other of the frame
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
In this case, an untimely operation of the tilting device of the box, made to move the latter to the opposite side, there is a high risk of producing shearing or tearing of the blind.
Furthermore, these blinds cannot be partially lowered or lowered on both sides of the frame at the same time.
In other known blinds of this type, the blind is wound on a drum rotating around a fixed shaft, located above the frame. The control of the rotation or of the pivoting of the drum is such that the free horizontal edge of the blind can pass above or below the shaft of this drum to be brought from one side of the frame to the other in order to to be down there.
These other known stores also have disadvantages.
Some of these other known blinds have, on each side of the frame, a stop close to the drum, preventing the free horizontal edge of the blind located on one side of the frame from being brought to the other side of the latter by passing through the blind. above the drum while allowing this edge located on the side considered of the frame to be effectively carried on the other side by passing below this drum. Such a construction disadvantageously imposes that, when the blind is engaged on one side of the frame, it is necessary to lower it or lower it completely from this o8té and then to raise it in order to be able to pass its free horizontal edge below the drum. in order to be able to lower or lower it on the other side of the chassis.
However, other similar blinds do not have such stops. In this case, their construction does not allow easy placement of their free horizontal edge of a
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
side or the other of the chassis. It has indeed been revealed) that trial and error are frequent during the positioning maneuver of the free edge of the blind on one side or the other of the frame,
The present invention overcomes the drawbacks and disadvantages by having as an object a new blind, a shutter or the like which is easily manoeuvrable and which can be lowered simultaneously on both sides of the frame, following equal or unequal lengths.
To this end, in a blind or a shutter according to the invention, the horizontal edge of the blind or of the shutter, connected to the drum or to the rotary member, can be moved with the latter only on one side of the chassis or of the frame. where it is located while the other horizontal edge of this blind or shutter is movable only on the other side of this chassis or this frame.
According to features of the invention, the horizontal edge of the blind or of the shutter not connected to the drum or to the rotary member, can be maintained on the side where it is movable by means of a retaining stop in one or the other of its upper, lower and middle positions.
This retaining stop rests against the edges of the slot in the chassis or of the frame through which the blind or shutter passes and, in addition, preferably covers this slot, when the free horizontal edge of the blind or shutter is in its position. top position. Furthermore, said retaining stopper is engaged for example in appropriate hooks when said free horizontal edge of this blind or of this shutter is in one of its intermediate positions,
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
particular or in its lower position.
According to the constructive characteristics of the new blind or of the new shutter, the drum or the rotary member is mounted on a shaft, the ends of which are connected to carriages rolling simultaneously in fixed side guides. To avoid the jamming of a carriage in the corresponding slideway, this carriage comprises two rolling rollers or the like, one of which bears respectively against a rolling face of the corresponding slideway without bearing against the opposite rolling face of this slideway. and the other of which bears against this opposite rolling face of the slideway without bearing against the rolling face of the latter initially considered.
In order to facilitate the movements of the drum or of the rotary member, the latter has, on the one hand, its pivot shaft which is mounted on the aforesaid carriages without being able to rotate about its axis during its movement and of on the other hand, its flanges and its cylinder which are mounted so as to be able to rotate simultaneously around this shaft against the aforementioned return spring, one of the ends of which is constantly connected to said shaft and the other of which end is constantly connected to one of these flanges or to this cylinder.
On the other hand, in order to be able to move the drum or the rotary member and to be able to maintain the latter in its lower position or in an intermediate position, two ropes or the like are provided from which the aforesaid two carriages are respectively suspended, these two cords being brought back by appropriate return pulleys, preferably one near the other of the same

side of the chassis or frame and being hooked to corresponding side hooks.
Other details and features of the invention will become apparent from the description of the drawings appended hereto, which represent schematically and by way of example only, one embodiment of the invention.
Figure 1 is a vertical sectional elevation of one embodiment of a blind according to the invention, raised from both sides of the frame equipped with this blind.
FIG. 2 is a section similar to the preceding one with the awning completely lowered on the interior side with respect to the frame.
FIG. 3 is a section similar to the previous ones with the blind partially lowered on the exterior side with respect to the frame.
FIG. 4 is a horizontal section of this blind particularly illustrating the control of its displacement on the exterior side relative to the frame.
, Figure 5 is another horizontal section of said blind showing in particular its mounting on a winding drum.
In these different figures, the same reference notations designate identical elements.
The drawings thus represent a blind 1 fitted to a window frame 2 and capable of being partially or totally lowered on one side or the other of this frame or again partially on both sides thereof.
The blind 1 consists for example of a sheet of paper, fabric or synthetic or natural material, capable of partially or completely filtering or stopping light rays, in particular solar rays.
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
Such a blind can also be applied to a door frame or to a frame of a fixed or movable element of a curtain wall or facade panel.
The invention also extends to the shutter or to any other device similar to the blind considered.
The blind 1 shown is constantly engaged through a horizontal slot 3 that has the cross member or the upper part of the frame 2.
One of the horizontal edges of the blind, for example the horizontal edge 4, constantly located on the inner side with respect to the frame 2, is attached or fixed in a conventional manner to a stopper 5 in the form of a slat or the like. The ends of this stop 5 in this case exceed the blind 1. Furthermore, in the upper position, the stop 5 completely reopens these edges of the slot 3 to make the latter waterproof and thus prevent the edge 4 from passing from the other. side of the frame 2 through this upper slot 3.
The other horizontal edge 6 of the awning 1, located constantly on the exterior side with respect to the frame 2, is connected to a drum 7 or similar rotary member on which the awning 1 can be largely wound up.
The drum 7, which is constantly placed on the outside with respect to the frame 2, consists essentially of a cylindrical ferrule 8, the ends of which are respectively fitted with two lateral flanges 9 and 10 having respectively two coaxial central openings crossed by a shaft of rotation 11. The linear ferrule 8 and the side flanges 9 and 10 can rotate around the shaft 11 in the direction of unwinding of the awning 1, against a helical return spring 12 extending around. of the shaft 11 between the flanges 9 and 10, the ends of this spring being respectively connected to the flange.
<Desc / Clms Page number 8>
that 9 on the one hand and to this shaft 11 near the other flange
10 on the other hand.
The connection between the outer horizontal edge 6 of the blind 1 with the drum 7 is ensured as follows. The edge 6 forms a closed loop 13 over its entire width. This loop 13 is introduced through a. longitudinal slot 14 presented by, the cylindrical ferrule 8, inside thereof. On the other hand, a retaining rod or bar 15 is introduced through small coaxial orifices 16, presented respectively by the flanges 9 and 10 and is engaged in the loop 13 in order (the power to retain the latter inside the the cylindrical ferrule 8.
Thanks to the action of the aforementioned coil spring 12, the awning 1 has a constant tendency to wind up on the cylindrical screw 8 of the drum 7, around the rotation shaft 11.
When the blind 1 is rolled up to the maximum on the drum 7, its horizontal edges 4 and 6 or the stop 5 and the drum 7 are in their upper position as shown in Figure 1. In this position, the drum 7 is protected by a box 17.
When you want to unroll the awning 1 from the inside with respect to the frame 2, you exert a downward pull on the horizontal edge 4 or on the stopper.
5. If the horizontal edge 4 or the stop 5 is inaccessible in the upper position, a cord can be provided from this edge or from this stop until it is within reach.
The blind 1 unwinds from the drum 7 against the helical spring 12 which tightens. To maintain the
<Desc / Clms Page number 9>
blind 1 lowered on the side in question of the frame 2, there are hooks 18 to which the ends of the slat 5 are respectively hooked as shown in Figure 2. It should be noted that the blind 1 is easily raised under the action of the helical spring 12 which relaxes, when the ends of the slat 5 are released from said hooks 18.
In order to be able to unwind the blind 1 from the outer side relative to the frame 2, the drum 7 is lowered by gravity parallel to this frame 2. For this purpose, the rotation shaft 11 of this drum 7 is mounted by its ends, respectively. on two identical carriages 19 and 20 rolling in vertical U-shaped lateral guides 21 and 22 provided face to face, on either side of said frame 2.
Each carriage 19 and 20 comprises a U-iron or the like, the core of which is situated upwards and the wings of which serve to place two pivots 23 and 24 around which two rollers 25 and 26 can turn respectively. one of the rollers 25 bears only on one of the wings of the corresponding U-shaped slide 21 or 22, while the other roller 26 bears only on the other wing of this slide. In this way, the carriage 19 or 20 can easily roll in the slide 21 or 22 without the risk of jamming, despite the pivoting force imparted to it by the spring tension.
Advantageously, the roller 25 and the pivot 23 or the roller 26 and the pivot 24 form a single piece of molded hard synthetic material, the outer end of the pivot 23 or 24 being rounded and serving as a lateral stop cooperating with the corresponding face. of the slide
21 or 22.
<Desc / Clms Page number 10>
The mounting of one end of the rotation shaft 11 of the drum 7 on a carriage 19 or 20 is ensured as follows. The end of this shaft 11 has two flats on either side of the longitudinal axis. This flattened end is engaged in a corresponding reotangular opening of the inner wing of the iron U of the corresponding carriage. In this way, the rotation shaft 11 of the drum 7 moves vertically together with the carriages, 19 or 20, without rotating about its longitudinal axis.
On the other hand, when the drum 7 descends from the outside relative to the frame, the blind 1 unfolds since its horizontal edge 4 is retained on the other side by the slat 5 resting on the frame 2. As a result , during their descent, the cylindrical ferrule 8 and the flanges 9 and 10 of the drum 7 rotate around the rotation shaft 11 which, for its part, does not rotate during its corresponding displacement.
As a result, the awning 1 can be rolled out from the outside relative to the frame 2, against the helical spring 12, during the descent of the drum 7, said awning 1 being able to be rewound on this. drum 7 during the ascent of said drum 7, by means of said spring 12 and by traotion on two control cords 27 and 28 which act respectively and simultaneously on the two carriages 19 and 20. Lowering or raising of the drum 7 is advantageously controlled from the inside and from the same lateral side with respect to the chassis, thanks to these two cords 27 and 28.
For this purpose, the ropes 27 and 28 pass through a passage 29 provided in the upper part of the frame 2.
The outer ends of these cords 27 and 28 are connected respectively to the carriages 19 and 20 by being attached.

cées to the soul of the iron U of these. The inner ends are for example fixed to a side upright, of the frame 2 substantially at mid-height thereof, while the parts of these ropes adjacent to these ends can be hung on suitable hooks 30 shown for example. by side bars 31 fixed to said upright. Furthermore, the ropes are guided by return pulleys 32 on the one hand and 33 and 34 on the other hand, mounted on fixed and appropriate U-shaped supports 35 on the one hand and 36 and 37 on the other hand.
To ensure the watertightness of the slot 3 'for the passage of the blind 1 from one side of the frame 2 to the other, two flexible slats 38 and 3 are provided between which the blind is moved while constantly remaining in contact with their free edge. . These strips 38 and 39 are for example resiliently clamped in corresponding grooves, presented for this purpose by the upper part of the frame 2.
In the example described and shown, the drum 7 is movable on the outside with respect to the frame 2 and this by keeping the awning 1 unrolled from this side at a distance from the window of the frame 2 sufficient to cause a movement of air between the blind and this window capable of preventing it from breaking.
The invention also extends to the case. for particular reasons, the drum 7 can be moved from the inside relative to the frame 2.
It is obvious that the invention is not exclusively limited to the embodiment shown and that many modifications can be made in the form, the arrangement and the constitution of certain of the elements involved in its realization, provided that these modifications are not in contradiction with the object of each
